Diabetes

All patients with diabetes (type 1 or 2) should be on a healthy whole food based LOW CARBOHYDRATE diet.  This means no more than 50 grams net carbs per day, less than 20 grams per day if you have weight to lose.

​CAUTION!!  If ON INSULIN and starting a low carb diet….you will need to lower your insulin, and this should be carefully monitored by your doctor.

Should not eat:
Sweets/sugar/bread/rice/pasta/potatoes/cereal/oatmeal/bagels/crackers

Should limit:
Fruit as this is still sugar in the form or Fructose.
